Joey Francesco Tryo
Organist Joey DeFrancesco has come a long way from All of Me, his recording debut as
a leader made in 1989 as a fresh-faced 17-year-old. From the get-go, the Philadelphia native established his credentials with virtuoso technique and an innate soulfulness that he brought to bear on the hulking Hammond B-3 organ which belied his young age but spoke of his deep Philly roots under the tutelage of his father, Papa John DeFrancesco, a B-3 burner in his own right. Through the 1990s, Joey was widely recognized as spearheading a renewed interested in the Hammond organ, an instrument that had fallen out of favor among musicians and the public since its golden period during the 1960s and early 70s.

El Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Marbella celebrará del 5 al 14 del próximo mes de mayo de 2006 el V Festival Internacional de Jazz de Marbella. La ciudad volverá a
convertirse un año más en la capital mundial de jazz. Tras los éxitos cosechados en las anteriores ediciones, el Festival Internacional de Jazz de Marbella ha preparado un cartel muy especial para celebrar su quinta edición.
Arturo Sandoval
El más destacado trompetista cubano de las últimas décadas Arturo Sandoval domina al menos cuatro idiomas musicales. Puede encenderse a través de ritmos Afro-Cubanos, mejora un tema bebop, elevar un concierto de Mozart y te relaja con una deliciosa
balada: y todo con la misma fuerza y elegancia.

Y no es raro, porque Sun Ra ha estado a la vez aparte y en la vanguardia de la tradición del jazz durante ese tiempo.

La fiesta mundial de Jazz comenzará con un concierto de música góspel contemporánea, baile y diversos estilos de música.El V Festival Internacional de Jazz de Marbella dará el pistoletazo de salida la noche del día 4 de mayo de la mano del grupo holandés “Just Him” con un extraordinario espectáculo musical.El festival se prolongará hasta el próximo día 14 de mayo de 2006 y este año se consolida con más de un centenar de actuaciones en los más originales escenarios.
