After many musical visits to this region 'los wawas' have obtained a special, personal link with Ronda and Arriate. The members met in the Jazz-studio in Antwerp and formed a rhythmical quartet. They went on a study-journey to La Habana and came back as a party band that mixes brilliantly the most diverse musical styles. Wawadadakwa's first album 'Voor Mama' ('For Mother') was released in 1999 and their second album 'ABCD' followed two years later. Recently percussionist Iddrisu Yussif joined the band and they are in full production of their third album. Their concert on the boat from the Netherlands to Belgium for the presentation of 'Andalucia Personal' was a steaming succes.
